How Long Does a Ceiling Fan Installation Take?

On average, a straightforward ceiling fan installation typically takes around 1 to 3 hours. However, the time it takes to install a ceiling fan can vary depending on several factors, including the complexity of the installation.

For instance, some ceiling fans come pre-assembled, while others require you to assemble the blades and other components. Moreover, if you need to run new wiring or make significant electrical modifications, it will take longer. Setting up additional features like integrated lighting, remote control, or smart capabilities can also extend the installation time.

At Mr. Electric, we regularly train our ceiling fan installers on the most effective and efficient techniques. We also equip our professionals with sophisticated tools and technology to get the job done right the first time around. Call Mr. Electric to hire a uniformed and certified electrician today.

When Is It Time to Replace a Ceiling Fan?

Most ceiling fans have a life expectancy of around 10 years, but this will depend on how well it is installed and how much you use it. So, when is it time to replace an old ceiling fan installation? Here are some signs we look for when determining whether it’s time for a ceiling fan replacement in Universal City:

  1. Wobbling & Balance Issues: Wobbling ceiling fans can be dangerous, as they can fall from the ceiling. If it can’t be resolved with balancing, then wobbling ceiling fans should be replaced.
  2. Loud, Strange Noises: Unusual or excessive noise from the fan can indicate problems with the motor, blades, or mounting. This can sometimes be fixed with maintenance, but it may be time for a new fan if the noise persists.
  3. Physical Damage: Accidental damage to the fan, such as bent blades or a damaged motor, may be costlier to fix than to replace. If the cost of repairs is greater than half the price of a new ceiling fan, then a replacement may be the wise decision.
  4. Outdated Style: If your fan no longer fits your style preferences, you might want to replace it with a fan that better complements the room's design.

Whatever your reason for a replacement, the professionals at Mr. Electric are happy to help you choose and install a new ceiling fan. Call Mr. Electric to consult with a member of our team today.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system. Photo of our new circuit breaker panel.
