Common Electrical Issues We Resolve

Electrical problems can arise unexpectedly, posing potential risks to your safety and property. Sometimes, these issues can be subtle and seemingly benign. However, it’s important to act quickly in order to prevent bigger problems. Here are some common examples of electrical issues that require professional attention:

  • Flickering Lights: This can indicate loose connections, faulty wiring, or overloaded circuits. Ignoring this issue can lead to electrical fires.
  • Frequently Tripping Circuit Breakers: The electrical panel is meant to cut power to a circuit when there is unusual electrical activity. However, a circuit breaker that frequently trips indicates an overloaded circuit or a faulty electrical component.
  • Electrical Shocks: Experiencing electric shocks when touching appliances or switches is a clear sign of an electrical problem. This could be due to faulty wiring, improper grounding, or damaged outlets.

Bigger Electrical Problems to Beware

Being aware of warning signs can help you identify potential electrical problems early on. If you notice any of the following serious signs of trouble, it's time to call a skilled electrician:

  • Burning Smell: Electricity can cause electrical fires, and this starts with overheating. A burning smell coming from electrical outlets, switches, or panels indicates a serious issue.
  • Sparks or Electrical Arcs: Sparking outlets or electrical arcs are not normal and should never be ignored. These occurrences can indicate loose connections, damaged wiring, or faulty appliances.
  • Buzzing Sounds: Unusual buzzing or crackling sounds coming from outlets, switches, or electrical panels indicate potential wiring problems, and they should be addressed ASAP.

Call Mr. Electric for urgent electrical repair if you notice any of these tell-tale warning signs. We are ready to dispatch an electrician in Fair Oaks Ranch as soon as possible.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system. Photo of our new circuit breaker panel.
