Electric Vehicle Charger Installation in Kirby, TX

Sustainability has become a major focus in the past decade, and one of the most significant contributors to a greener future is the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

As the demand for EVs continues to soar, the need for convenient and efficient charging solutions has become that much more crucial. This is where an on-site electric vehicle charger installation comes to the scene, offering a range of benefits for property owners, homeowners, and businesses alike.

If you are interested in your very own electric vehicle charger installation in Kirby, then contact Mr. Electric to get started with a consultation or continue reading to learn more. Our team of certified electricians is always happy to help.

Why Install Your Own Charging Station?

There are many public charging stations, so why spend money on an on-site EV charging systems installation? Turns out, installing an on-site charging station is a forward-thinking decision with multifaceted benefits.

Beyond the convenience of charging your EV at home, such infrastructure demonstrates a commitment to sustainability. Installing an on-site EV charging station at home contributes to reduced emissions and promotes cleaner transportation options. It allows homeowners to take control of their energy consumption and carbon footprint, supporting broader efforts towards sustainability.

Furthermore, some utility companies offer incentives or special rates for home EV charging, leading to potential cost savings in the long run. You can further save by charging during off-peak hours. Those cents on the dollar rack up to hundreds of dollars through the year.

Choosing the Right Type of EVSE

Choosing the right type of electric vehicle charging station installation depends on several factors, including your driving habits, charging needs, and budget. Let’s look at the main types of EV chargers and considerations for selecting the best one for your situation:

  • Level 1 chargers are the most basic option and typically come standard with EVs. They use a standard household outlet (120 volts) and are suitable for overnight charging or occasional top-ups. Level 1 chargers are slow, adding about 2-5 miles of range per hour of charging, making them ideal only for those with low daily driving distances or who can leave their vehicle plugged in for extended periods.
  • Level 2 chargers require a dedicated 240-volt outlet, similar to what's used for large appliances like dryers or ovens. These chargers can add around 10-25 miles of range per hour of charging, making them suitable for daily charging needs at home or work. They are more efficient than Level 1 chargers and can fully charge an EV overnight.
  • DC fast chargers are high-powered chargers commonly found at public charging stations or along highways. They provide rapid charging, capable of adding around 60-80% of an EV's range in about 30 minutes. DC fast chargers are ideal for long-distance travel or when you need to quickly top up your battery during a busy day. However, they require specialized equipment and are not typically feasible on residential properties.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system.
