Electric Vehicle Charger Installation in Spring Branch, TX

Electric vehicles (EVs) have surged in popularity in recent years, and they continue to reshape the way we think about transportation. This time around, a profound shift towards sustainability has also catalyzed developments in charging infrastructure.

While previous electric vehicle revolutions were held back due to charging options, the current EV revolution is marked by a robust charging infrastructure. In fact, homeowners can even have an electric vehicle charging station installation in their homes. Continue reading or call Mr. Electric to learn more about getting an electric vehicle charger installation in Spring Branch, TX.

Electric Vehicles are Here to Stay

The early models of electric vehicles in the late 1800s and early 1900s coexisted with steam-powered and internal combustion engines (ICE). They were popular for their quiet operation, ease of use, and lack of emissions. Sadly, the battery technology meant little to no viable range.

The 1900s saw a resurgence and modernization of electric vehicles, due in part to concerns about environmental pollution and oil dependence. Although there were now advancements in battery chemistry and design, they still had limitations in terms of cost, weight, and performance. Plus, the electric vehicles themselves were costly to manufacture compared to vehicles with ICE.

Fast-forward to the mass-manufacturing of electric vehicles and advanced battery technology capable of up to 400 miles of range. Mass adoption is in full swing and one limiting factor is charging infrastructure. Luckily, the solution is simple.

On-Site Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

While gas fill-ups are quick and simple, you can’t have a gas station anywhere. You COULD charge your electric vehicle almost anywhere though. With your own EV charging systems installation in your garage or parking lot, your property can serve as a charging station.

Though the standard wall outlets can provide charge for your electric vehicle, they only offer about five to six miles of range per hour. If you want faster charging, you’ll need to consider a Level 2 or DC Fast-Charging electric vehicle charger installation.

Level 2 chargers use 240-volts rather than the standard 120-volt outlet, and they can charge 20 to 80 miles of range per hour. The fastest charging, however, is with DC Fast-Charging. These advanced options can bring your EV from 0% to 80% charge in less than an hour in most cases.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system.
