Electrical Outlet Replacement in Boerne, TX

Electrical outlets are integral components of our homes, providing the power supply for various devices and appliances. Over time, these outlets can wear out or become damaged, posing serious safety risks. Recognizing signs that indicate it's time for an electrical outlet repair or electrical outlet replacement is crucial for maintaining a safe and efficient electrical system. If your electrical outlets are faulty or insufficient, then call Mr. Electric for an electrical outlet replacement in Boerne. Our certified electricians are ready when you are.

Signs of a Bad Electrical Outlet

The electrical outlet installation is seemingly simple, but there is a lot that can go wrong. Here are just some tell-tale signs of trouble to keep an eye out for:

  • If plugs don't fit snugly into the outlet or if the outlet cover is wobbly, it may indicate that the internal connections are loose. Loose outlets can lead to arcing, sparking, or overheating.
  • Burn marks or discoloration around the outlet could signify overheating or a potential short circuit. This is a serious issue that can result in electrical fires.
  • If a particular outlet frequently causes the circuit breaker to trip, it could indicate an overload or a wiring problem. Continuous tripping may damage the outlet and should be investigated.
  • Physical damage to the outlet, such as cracks or broken parts, can compromise its safety. Damaged outlets should be replaced to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Visible sparks or arcing when plugging in or unplugging devices suggest a problem with the outlet's internal wiring.
  • Outlets should not feel warm or hot to the touch. If they do, it could indicate an overloaded circuit or poor internal connections.
  • Unusual sounds emanating from an outlet, such as buzzing or crackling, could indicate electrical arcing or sparking.
  • If lights connected to a specific outlet flicker or dim, it may indicate a poor connection or wiring issue.

Call Mr. Electric if you notice any of these issues. Sometimes a quick electrical outlet repair in Boerne will have you back on schedule. Our electricians come equipped with parts and supplies to handle most repairs the first time around.

About GFCI Outlets

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets are designed to protect against electrical shocks in areas where water is present. They are typically found in bathrooms, kitchens, garages, and outdoors. GFCI outlets quickly shut off power in the event of a ground fault, preventing electrical shocks. GFCI protection is necessary to reduce the risk of electrical accidents and they should be regularly tested and replaced if faulty.

When to Consider Smart Outlets

You’ve heard of a smartphone and a smart home, but do you know about smart electrical outlets? If you don’t have the budget for smart appliances and fixtures, then a smart electrical outlet may be the middle ground you are looking for.

Smart outlets allow you to control connected devices remotely using a smartphone or voice commands. This is convenient for turning off appliances, lamps, or electronics when you're away from home.

Smart outlets even enable you to create schedules for connected devices, automating their operation. This can be useful for turning lights on and off at specific times or managing energy-intensive appliances efficiently.

Some smart outlets also come with energy monitoring capabilities, providing insights into the energy consumption of connected devices. This information can help you make informed decisions to reduce energy usage.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system. Photo of our new circuit breaker panel.
