Electrical Outlet Replacement in Hollywood Park, TX

The electrical outlet is our gateway to energy that powers our appliances, devices, electronics, and so forth. Though we take them for granted, electrical outlets are NOT forever or indestructible. They are vulnerable to wear and tear as well as accidental damage. They can also become outdated. Whether you need an electrical outlet repair or an electrical outlet replacement in Hollywood Park, the professionals at Mr. Electric are here to help. Call us today to hire a certified and uniformed electrician. We are ready when you are.

How Does the Electrical Outlet Work?

Understanding how the electrical outlet installation works can help us identify electrical issues and even prevent them from occurring. Electrical outlets serve as connection points for electrical devices to receive power. The outlet comprises two or three openings, including a live or "hot" slot, a neutral slot, and sometimes a grounding slot.

The live slot carries the electrical current into the device while the neutral slot allows the current to return to the electrical system. The grounding slot, when present, provides an additional safety path for excess electrical charge. When a device is plugged into an outlet, the electrical circuit is completed, allowing the flow of electricity to power the connected device.

GFCI Outlets

As we touched on earlier, the grounding slot provides an additional path for excess electricity. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) outlets are a crucial safety feature in electrical systems, designed to protect against electrical shocks and reduce the risk of electrical fires. They are commonly found in kitchen, bathrooms, and areas prone to moisture.

GFCI outlets work by constantly monitoring the flow of electrical current between the hot and neutral wires. In a properly functioning circuit, the current entering the device through the hot wire should be equal to the current returning through the neutral wire. If there is an imbalance, such as when electrical current is leaking from the circuit (possibly through a person or water), the GFCI quickly interrupts the power flow by shutting off the electricity to prevent harm.

Smart Electrical Outlets

While GFCI outlets are practically a necessity in kitchens and bathrooms, smart electrical outlets are more of a luxury – albeit incredibly practical and efficient ones. Smart electrical outlets, also known as smart plugs or smart sockets, offer additional functionalities beyond traditional electrical outlets.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system. Photo of our new circuit breaker panel.
