Electricity is practically a necessity in today’s world, and the electrical panel installation is responsible for distributing electricity throughout your home or business. Call Mr. Electric to consult with a knowledgeable member of our team. We are happy to address any questions, concerns, or issues you may have. We can schedule an appointment or arrange an emergency electrical panel replacement in Fair Oaks Ranch today.

What is the Electrical Panel?

The electrical panel installation, also known as the circuit breaker installation, is a crucial component of a home's electrical system. It serves as the main distribution point for electricity entering the house and controls the flow of electrical power to various circuits throughout the building.

When there is unusual or risky electrical activity in a particular electrical circuit, the circuit breaker recognizes this activity and cuts off electricity to that circuit. If your electrical panel uses fuses, the respective fuse will blow. In electrical panels with circuit breakers, the respective circuit breaker will switch off. To restore power, you’ll have to replace the blown fuse or switch the circuit breaker back on.

Signs of a Damaged Electrical Panel

Identifying signs of a damaged electrical panel is crucial for maintaining electrical safety in your home. Though some signs may warrant only a repair, severe damage may call for a full replacement. Here are some warning signs to watch out for:

  • If you notice that your lights flicker or dim without any apparent reason, it may indicate loose connections or an inadequate power supply from the panel to the lights.
  • Excessive heat in the panel could indicate an overloaded circuit, loose connections, or inadequate ventilation, all of which should be taken seriously.
  • A burning smell coming from the electrical panel or discolored areas around it, such as blackened or brownish marks, may indicate electrical arcing within the panel, which poses a significant fire risk.
  • Unusual buzzing, crackling, or popping sounds coming from the electrical panel should not be ignored.

Other Signs You May Need a New Electrical Panel

Damage to the electrical panel is not the only reason you may need an upgrade. Other reasons that you may need a new electrical panel include:

  • Insufficient Panel Capacity: If your electrical panel is outdated and unable to handle the electrical demands of your home, it can lead to frequent power disruptions, overloaded circuits, and potential safety hazards.
  • Fuse Box: If your electrical panel uses fuses, a fuse box upgrade into a circuit breaker box can save you time and money in the long run. Flipping switches is simpler than replacing fuses!

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system.
