Electrical Panel Replacement in Hollywood Park, TX

Electricity is a must-have for any home or business. A bad electrical system is just as significant as a poor plumbing system. It’s just that most homeowners don’t know a lot about the electrical system.

On this page, we’ll share some signs that your electrical panel installation is lackluster. If you realize you need electrical panel repair or even an electrical panel replacement in Hollywood Park, then act quick. The right electrical panel is crucial in preventing electrical fires, electrocutions, and damage to your electronics. Call Mr. Electric to hire a uniformed and certified electrician today.

What is the Electrical Panel?

Just as the name suggests, an electrical panel is a panel that manages the electrical circuits running throughout your building. If you open your electrical panel, usually found in the utility room or garage, you will notice a series of switches – or fuses in some cases.

These switches, or circuit breakers, will automatically flip into the OFF position when there is any unusual or dangerous electrical activity in the respective circuit. This safety feature prevents the wiring, outlets, and connected devices from electrical damage.

Your electrical panel installation in Hollywood Park is not perfect though. Sometimes, especially over time, components can become loosened, frayed, or damaged. It may also not be able to keep up with your ever-growing electrical demand.

Signs of a Faulty or Damaged Electrical Panel

With most of the wiring hidden within the walls, how can you tell there is something wrong? Fortunately, you don’t have to be an electrician to notice signs of a faulty electrical panel. Of course, electricians are more experienced and have the expertise and equipment to identify subtle issues that the average person cannot.

Still, here are some warning signs to watch out for:

Electrical Panel Replacement in Hollywood Park, TX
  • An electrical panel that is hot to the touch or has scorch marks.
  • Buzzing or crackling sounds from the electrical panel.
  • Lights flickering, or dimming when things are plugged into outlets.
  • Frequently tripping circuit breakers.
  • The smell of burning or smoke is a huge red flag!!

Upgrade Your Fuse Box for Long-Term Savings

We didn’t include this in the list above, but fuses in the electrical panel is also reason to call an electrician. Fuse boxes are older versions of the electrical panel. While a circuit breaker installation uses switches, a fuse box uses fuses to stop the electrical flow.

In a circuit breaker, the respective switch will flip off. But in a fuse box, the fuse will blow – and you will have to replace it to restore power to the circuit. As you can imagine, this is costly and inconvenient. It is also slightly more risky. In fact, insurance companies are known to offer incentives for a fuse box upgrade because of this greater risk.

If your panel is not meeting your home’s demands, or if you have a fuse box, then call Mr. Electric to learn more about our electrical panel replacement. We have knowledgeable staff on standby to take your call at any time of the day.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system.
