Electrical Panel Replacement in Kirby, TX

Electrical panels play a crucial role as the gatekeepers of electricity within our buildings. Designed to be reliable and long-lasting, these panels are the unsung heroes that ensure a safe and efficient flow of electricity. However, like any other piece of technology, electrical panels are not invincible. There comes a time when repairs or even a complete replacement becomes necessary. If it’s time for your electrical panel repair or electrical panel replacement in Kirby, then call Mr. Electric to consult with a knowledgeable member of our team. Our certified electricians are on standby for an urgent dispatch if necessary.

Signs of Electrical Panel Issues & Problems

Electrical panels, while robust, can experience issues over time. It's essential to keep an eye out for signs of trouble so that you can act before small issues turn into big problems. Remember, a timely electrical panel repair in Kirby is much better than an untimely replacement.

One of the most frustrating and tell-tale signs of a faulty electrical panel is the circuit breakers tripping frequently. If your circuit breakers are tripping more often than usual, it may be a sign that your electrical panel is overloaded or outdated.

Similarly, if your lights flicker or dim without any apparent reason, it may be due to faulty connections or inadequate power supply from the electrical panel. This might also happen when you plug in appliances or electronics, indicating the power supply from the electrical panel is insufficient.

Finally, a distinct smell of burning or overheating originating from your electrical panel is a severe warning sign. It could indicate loose connections, faulty wiring, or excessive electrical load. Regularly inspect your electrical panel installation for scorch marks, smell of burning, or smoke.

Fuse Box Vs. Circuit Breaker Box

Electrical panels will cut off electricity to any circuits that have unusual electrical activity. For instance, a power surge in a circuit should trigger the electrical panel to cut the power supply before further damage is done. But the mechanisms involved can vary.

In a circuit breaker box, the respective switch will flip into the OFF position to cut off the power supply. In a fuse box, the respective fuse will blow out. To restore power, you will have to either flip the switch back on (if you have a circuit breaker installation) or replace the fuse (if you have a fuse box).

As you can imagine, the fuse box is more troublesome. You have to remove the blown fuse and replace it with a new one. Fuse boxes are also slightly more dangerous. A fuse box upgrade into a circuit breaker box can save you lots of time and money in the long-run!

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system. Photo of our new circuit breaker panel.
