Electrical Panel Replacement in Universal City, TX

Do you ever wonder how all of that electricity comes into your home or business in the form of usable energy? If not for the electrical panel installation and other components of the electrical system, the incoming electricity would fry your electronics and melt the electrical wiring. This is why regularly inspecting the electrical panel and arranging timely electrical panel repair in Universal City is essential. When necessary, an electrical panel replacement should be handled without delay. Residents in the area who need a certified electrician can call Mr. Electric. We are proud to offer reliable and affordable service.

What Is the Electrical Panel?

You’re probably familiar with the electrical panel, a gray box with rows of switches or fuses – but what do these crucial electrical components do? In short, your electrical panel is the hub or gatekeeper of electricity entering your building’s electrical circuits. It is responsible for distributing, as well as cutting off, electrical supply to the many electrical circuits in your building.

The electrical panel divvies up the electrical supply to the circuits, and it also cuts electrical supply to any circuits that display unusual electrical activity. If there are short circuits or power surges in an electrical circuit, for instance, the electrical panel will interrupt the electrical supply in order to prevent potential damage.

Circuit Breakers VS. Fuses

Open up your circuit breaker and take a look inside. Do you notice rows of black switches that can be flipped ON and OFF, or do you see colorful fuses? If there are switches, then you have a circuit breaker installation. Those with fuses are fuse boxes. While older homes may have fuse boxes, modern homes are built with circuit breakers. This is because fuses are costly and troublesome to replace when they blow out. Fuses are also a bit more risky, as they can cause electrical fires. This is why many property insurance companies offer incentives to get a fuse box upgrade into a circuit breaker installation.

When to Repair the Electrical Panel

For the most part, your only interaction with the electrical panel will be to flip the circuit breaker back on if it "trips" OFF – or to replace a fuse if it blows out. However, you should get in the habit of inspecting the electrical panel. The following are signs that you may need an electrical panel repair:

Electrical Panel Replacement in Universal City, TX
  • Physical damage on the electrical panel
  • Scorch marks or burning smell from the electrical panel
  • Frequently tripping circuit breakers
  • Excessive humming or buzzing sound coming from the electrical panel
  • Lights flickering or dimming.

It’s important to address these issues as soon as possible. A faulty or damaged electrical panel can lead to electrical fires, electrocutions, and fried electronics. Mr. Electric is here when you need a certified electrician.

Leave the Installation to the Professionals

There are building codes and regulations that govern how an electrical panel installation in Universal City should be performed. Plus, the installation poses serious risks of electrocution, and DIY installations can cause a host of awfully dangerous consequences.

If it is time for your electrical panel replacement in Universal City, then hire certified electricians from Mr. Electric. We offer price estimates upfront and regularly share discounts, coupons, and promotional offers on our website. Hire an uniformed electrician and enjoy a peace of mind knowing your electrical panel will be good for years and years to come.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system.
