Electrical Wiring in Universal City, TX

We all know that electricity is an awfully dangerous element that can cause electrical shocks, electrical fires, and even fatalities. Fortunately, engineers and electricians bring things under control: Electrical wiring tucked in conduits within the walls and ceilings will safely guide that electricity. The bad news, however, is that these wires (and their sheathing) can become worn and damaged.

If your whole house electrical wiring in Universal City is making you worry, then call Mr. Electric to consult with a member of our team as soon as possible. We are happy to arrange a face-to-face meeting or an on-site visit today.

What Is “Bad” Electrical Wiring?

We use “bad wiring” to refer to electrical wiring that is in a couple of different conditions: Either the wiring is physically damaged, or the wiring was improperly installed. These can be due to an electrician cutting corners and due to accidental damage, wear and tear, rodent attacks, etc.

In any case, property owners are always advised to schedule an annual or biennial electrical inspection. By assessing your home wiring, an electrician can identify and pinpoint electrical issues then address the root cause. This can save you time, money, and well-being.

When to call an electrician

Your whole house electrical wiring should have been installed to last a long time, but not forever. If your home is over 40 years old, then chances are it’s time to plan for some rewiring. Outdated wiring materials and techniques can put house at risk, and keeping up with the latest building codes, standards, and regulations is imperative.

As for warning trouble, homeowners should stay alert for the following red flags:

  • Flickering Lights: This can indicate an overloaded electrical circuit, weak connections, or damage.
  • Frequently Tripping Circuit Breakers: Circuit breakers are supposed to trip OFF when there is unusual electrical activity, but if it constantly trips OFF, then there’s an underlying problem to address.
  • Hot Electrical Outlets: Hot, scorched, or smoky outlets are major red flags! Turn off the circuit breaker and unplug everything from the affected outlets before calling an electrician ASAP.
  • Frayed or Chewed Wiring: Damaged sheathing exposes the wires and allows electricity to arc. This arc discharge can cause dangerous electrical shocks and even fires.

It’s always better to be safe than sorry, and this is especially fitting when considering the electrical system. Mr. Electric is always ready to take your call.

Our Customers Love our Services

John was on time, explained the issue I was having, offered me a couple of options, and then repaired the switch that was giving me problems, following my preferences of the choices he had given me.  He was pleasant, professional, and did a great job.  Would not hesitate to  use Mr. Electric again!

Austin, electrician and his teammate we’re great! Both were punctual, courteous, and very informative in explaining the situation and their recommendations to replace a bad breaker in our panel.  There was NO frivolous attempt up-sale to items we didn’t need and they were straight to the point honest in their recommendation. In the end, I would described the customer service Austin and his teammate provided me as, AWESOME! Being a new home owner, I am glad I have found  this company and will be using them any future electrical needs!

Outstanding communication and very professional service.  I would highly recommend Mr. Electric.  Received both e-mails and texts on appointment to include a photo and short bio of the actual electrician (Brad Mason) who would be doing the work.  Wish all home service providers did the same.  Brad was on time (actually a few minutes early).  He installed 30AMP breaker and associated RV plug in our garage.  To avoid any sheetrock repairs it was necessary for him to drop the line to the house electric panel through a wall with foam insulation, with very limited head/body clearance for him to work.  No mess left behind from the actual plug installation on another wall.

Rick from Mr. Electric arrived when expected and quickly diagnosed the problem.  He recommended a solution and gave us a proposal for solving the problem.  We asked when he could do the work and how long would it take.  He said he could do the job that day and it would take 4 or 5 hours.  The price was reasonable, and we told him to get started.  He did a very good job, neat and within the estimated time.  The invoice amount for the job was was the same as the proposal amount.  We are planning on having Mr. Electric and hopefully Rick do more work in the near future to upgrade our home's 50+ year old electrical system. Photo of our new circuit breaker panel.
